Automatically inserts simultaneously dual row contacts into IC sockets. The contacts on carrier strips are fed into and through the machine in continuous lines and the plastic housings are placed on top. Because of this "flow through" design, different lengths can be handled with only an insertion tool change. At the end of the line the carrier strips are broken off and cut up. The assembled sockets are inspected for pins and, if necessary, automatically rejected. The "good" socket assemblies are pushed out of the machine and can by choice be loaded into plastic magazine tubes or loaded onto an automatic 6 x 12 inch indexing tray with tracks from which they can be transferred by pressing into a sheet of styrofoam.
